Devour! The Food Film Fest, the world’s largest food film festival, is inviting emerging and established filmmakers to submit entries for its 8th annual edition, taking place October 24-28, 2018 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival returns for its 8th edition this spring, bringing the world of remarkable independent shorts to Toronto’s Lake Shore. The Festival, produced by Fifth Ground Entertainment Inc. in association with Lakeshore Arts, will celebrate 16 short films that range from thought-provoking dramas to charismatic comedies at The Assembly Hall (1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive) on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, 2018.

– SiriusXM Canada, the country’s leading audio entertainment company, today announced the return of the highly anticipated SiriusXM Top Comic competition in search of Canada’s best in comedy. New this year, the grand prize winner will receive international exposure with a guaranteed spot to perform at JFL Sydney in Australia, in addition to JFL42 (Toronto), JFL NorthWest (Vancouver), Just For Laughs Montreal and inclusion in a JFL TV taping airing on a Bell property network.

Canada’s Walk of Fame will honour 2017 Inductee David Suzuki with a permanent star in his hometown of Vancouver on March 23rd, marking the organization’s first event outside of Ontario in its 20-year history. The Hometown Star program is a new initiative beginning this year, providing Inductees with an additional opportunity to celebrate their induction in their hometown with a plaque mounted at a special location of their choice.
