Toronto, Ontario…. “The 2015 Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) was the most highly attended CNE of this millennium,” Virginia Ludy, the CNE’s new General Manager, announced today at the fair’s Annual General Meeting.

“This year’s event attracted a total of 1.601 million people over the course of its 18-day run (August 21 to September 7, 2015). Overall attendance was up 11.61 % over the 2014 CNE, which itself was a very successful fair that attracted 1.435 million visitors,” Ms. Ludy said.

“The 137th CNE will be remembered as one in which all the stars aligned in our favour,” Ms. Ludy elaborated. “We had 18 days of virtually perfect weather, our “value for money” proposition was very strong, and we had a stellar line-up of attractions and concerts. All of these elements converged to create a real “buzz” about the CNE in the community and on social media,” she said. “We would like to thank all our partners and visitors for helping us to make this year’s event such a great success!”

“One hundred and thirty seven years ago, my predecessors on the Board of what was then called the Toronto Industrial Exhibition, were determined to cultivate a timeless legacy on the Exhibition grounds,” Brian Ashton, President of the Canadian National Exhibition Association stated. “This year’s fair was a triumphant example of the strength of this event. However, as these grounds continue to change, we must always remember our history, applaud our legacy, and work to ensure a vibrant future for this esteemed event on this historic Toronto waterfront property.”

Highlights of the 2015 Canadian National Exhibition included:
