Cream Productions appoints new President with eye on domestic and international growth

(Toronto, ON – May 29, 2014)  Cream Productions’ co-founder and CEO David Brady is pleased to announce the appointment former EVP of Production Kate Harrison to President of the company, with both now taking joint-ownership of the Toronto-based producer.

The move is designed to capitalise on Cream Productions’ expanding North American and international programme slate, with new series orders including a second season of its hit wildlife docu-adventure series Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan for BBC America, BBC Worldwide and OLN Canada; the chilling true-crime docudrama Fear thy Neighbor for Investigation Discovery and upcoming History Canada series The Great Canadian Dino Hunt, which follows fossil hunters across Canada as they dig up some of the most important dinosaur bones in the world.

Harrison has been with the company six years and her credits include producing and managing over 30 feature films, MOWs and television series, including Fear Thy Neighbor for Investigation Discovery and Paranormal Witness for Syfy.

“As new partner in Cream Productions, I am thrilled to be joining David at this pivotal moment as we expand our focus and direction to grow the business and bring the company to new heights – both at home in North America and internationally,” said Harrison.

“This year is looking to be one of the company’s most successful and Kate and I are determined to build on this momentum,” said Brady. “We have a great slate and some exciting up-coming projects including our first scripted comedy project and a first web series.”

Harrison’s appointment also follows the retirement of the company’s co-founder and executive producer, Christopher Rowley, who is stepping down from the company. Rowley co-founded Cream Productions with Brady in 2003.

“Christopher has been an invaluable partner over the past 11 years and helped build Cream Productions into a global producer of highly acclaimed and award-winning television,” said Brady. “We wish him well as he moves on to the next chapter of exciting adventures in his life.”

Cream’s expansion plans recently saw the company bring in Richard Life, former Head of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, the global division of U.K.’s leading commercial broadcaster ITV, to head up the company’s international business growth and U.K. operations.
