Toronto, ON (May 9, 2016) – The monsters are coming! This July Rue Morgue, Canada’s premiere horror entertainment magazine, launches the debut edition of its DARK CARNIVAL Horror Culture & Entertainment Expo at the Hamilton Convention Centre, in Hamilton, ON July 9-10, 2016. This highly anticipated event will bring together special celebrity guests, attractions, panels, workshops, dealer tables, screenings, parties and more in a weekend-long celebration of all things dark and macabre. Special Guests of the 2016 Dark Carnival include legendary filmmakers GUILLERMO DEL TORO (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) and GEORGE A. ROMERO (Night of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead, Creepshow), both of whom will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs. They will be joined by scream screen icon BILL MOSELEY (The Devil’s Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), SHERMAN HOWARD (Bub from Day of the Dead, Blight from Batman Beyond), character actor JULIAN RICHINGS (Supernatural, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil) and MITCH MARKOWITZ, star of the legendary children’s television show The Hilarious House of Frightenstein.

We’re kicking off a fright filled weekend with A HAUNTED EVENING WITH MITCH MARKOWITZ AND SPOOKY STEPH AT HAMILTON PLACE. This rare and exclusive Celebrity Paranormal Investigation Event features legendary Hilarious House of Frightenstein star MITCH MARKOWITZ and Haunted Hamilton’s own STEPHANIE “SPOOKY STEPH” LECHNIAK as they investigate one of Hamilton’s most famous and popular theatres…. Hamilton Place! Guests will have the ultimate Spooky VIP Experience that includes a meet-and-greet and souvenir photo with Mitch, investigation time with the Haunted Hamilton Crew using the latest and greatest in paranormal detection tools, authentic spirit communication methods and ghost photography techniques in hopes of speaking and communicating with the ghosts at Hamilton Place (including the infamous Woman in Red!).
