The Tenors to Perform for the Obamas During the 92nd Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting

TORONTO, ON – (November 21, 2014) – Canada’s multi-platinum selling and JUNO Award-winning vocal super group The Tenors are taking a break from their holiday tour to perform for the Obamas at the prestigious National Christmas Tree Lighting. The annual celebration will take place on the White House Ellipse at President’s Park, in Washington D.C. on December 4. The event will be broadcast on PBS starting December 5 and will air throughout the month of December.

The Tenors, one of the few Canadian acts ever invited to participate in this event, will perform alongside Grammy-winning legend Patti LaBelle, pop phenomenon Fifth Harmony and pop world duo Nico & Vinz. The National Christmas Tree Lighting kicks off a four-week holiday celebration at President’s Park. This year’s ceremony marks the 92nd annual National Christmas Tree Lighting, an American holiday tradition started by President Calvin Coolidge in 1923.

The Tenors have been thrilling audiences around the world with their powerful voices and memorable melodies. Blending classical music and contemporary pop, the vocal super group has achieved international success, showcasing their undeniable charm and diverse vocal styles. The music of Clifton Murray, Victor Micallef, Remigio Pereira and Fraser Walters, is rich and soulful, with powerful anthems, classic covers as well as songs written and co-written by the Tenors. They have just completed their fourth album due out next year and have three Canadian dates on this year’s holiday tour: Vancouver December 2, Oshawa December 6 and Windsor December 23.

After performances with Celine Dion on Oprah, at the Prime Time Emmy Awards, on ITV’s Diamond Jubilee Show for the Queen, for 12 million viewers on Britain’s biggest show Strictly Come Dancing and over 150 other TV appearances in the past few years, they continue to thrill audiences across the five continents where they have performed.  They have shared the stage with Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Elton John, Earth Wind & Fire, Paul McCartney, Jennifer Hudson, Ellie Golding, Justin Bieber and more.

Their self-titled debut album, their holiday album, The Perfect Gift and their latest album – Lead With Your Heart, have all gone double platinum and have been released in many countries around the world by Universal Music and its affiliates. The Tenors received their first JUNO Award for Lead With Your Heart.
