The Aga Khan Museum spans the spectrum of cultural expression with the opening of a new exhibition, Syrian Symphony: New Compositions in Sight and Sound. This immersive and interactive response from artists to the current situation in Syria, presented in association with Silkroad, the arts organization established by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, opens May 20, 2017, and runs until August 13, 2017.

The Aga Khan Museum marks Canada’s 150 years as a nation by transforming its renowned architectural spaces into canvases for expression and conversation about the complexities of Canadian identity in one of its most experimental exhibitions yet. Opening July 22, HERE: Locating Contemporary Canadian Artists, features more than 20 artists working in a wide variety of media, among them painting, sculpture, video, and textile, in a few cases presented in unexpected and provocative ways.

2016 Performing Arts Season Launches January 23 at the Aga Khan Museum

The Aga Khan Museum’s 2016 performing arts program kicks off on Saturday, January 23 at 8 pm with a journey into the heart of Anatolia and Persia via the passionate poetry of Sultan Shah Khatayi. The first of the Museum’s Great Poets Series, the performance brings brothers Ali Riza and Hüseyin Albayrak together with the Montreal-based ensemble Constantinople.
